Robotics for Higher Education Application Scenarios: Lab Project at Shandong University of Technology

We recently delivered an intelligent robotics lab to Shandong University of Technology, supporting the development of practical teaching and research capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence and automation. This project reflects our continued focus on providing solutions tailored to higher education application scenarios.

The lab is designed to support real-world experimentation and interdisciplinary learning. Key systems include:

  • A Six-Axis Robot Vision Inspection Production Line, integrating a robotic arm, industrial vision system, conveyor belt, and edge computing platform. It supports both Linux and Windows environments, and comes with open-source resources for teaching, experimentation, and secondary development.
  • A Mobile Collaborative Robot, used primarily for fruit-picking experiments. This robot enables hands-on research in agricultural robotics, combining object detection, motion planning, and autonomous navigation in a controlled academic setting.

These systems support a range of curriculum needs in robotics, machine vision, AI programming, and intelligent control, helping students gain experience in technologies that are increasingly relevant in modern industry.

Throughout the process, we worked closely with university staff to ensure the equipment matched their specific educational goals. On-site photos demonstrate the integration of the lab into the teaching environment, highlighting its role in applied learning.
